Hello all:
Decided to try out this venue and see what sort of interest it generates.
I am a typical hard working American that has a keen interest in issues affecting my life, liberty and property. I believe in God, have no grand aspirations of being a political leader or even being "noteworthy" to those who are. I love my country but I simply want to be left alone to pursue my ambitions for happiness, freedom and yes, profit, where and when I so choose. I want my property and life to be protected from all criminals including the "official" ones called public employees.
I also want everyone else to have the same freedom and liberty to purse their own interests as long as they are nonviolent and do not infringe on other's rights. I detest self imposed lifestyle parasites that believe others owe them a living or subsidy simply based on their need. They try to take your property through tears but there is another parasite I detest to an even greater degree and that is the government that takes your property by force to redistribute it to other parasites. I call this "legalized plunder". There isn't anything "legal" about it but since the government is the pirate in this case it has a form, though twisted, of legitimacy.
I grimace when I see things that reduce people to being the means to other's ends instead of each individual being an end unto themselves. I am not against charity or lending a helping hand but one should never be forced to "contribute" against their will. This effectively eliminates government welfare and rightfully so. Being forced to being your brother's keeper is not moral nor just, just simply imposed slavery. When it crosses into public policy it becomes an excuse to steal and use the proceeds to buy votes. It is not any different than gang warfare in the end as it comes down to whose gang is bigger and can "legally" plunder the smaller gangs. The public purse becomes the target for every thug. Liberty stands no chance when a country becomes any mixture of plunder and property. The two cannot exist for long side by side. We are seeing the rapid decline of our own country because it turned from the Founder's principles to one of plunder and political cronyism.
The very core essence of government, what makes it different than private entities, is the ability to use force to enforce it's policies or edicts. A just government is only a referee and never chooses winners and losers. A just government enforces contracts and protects individual's life, liberty and property from thieves and plunderers and never becomes the agent of plunder itself.
Those who believe social justice(so called) trumps property rights are fools. You cannot have one with the other. Try it and see. We have a perfect example all around us. Social justice really is a system where the incompetent become masters of the competent, using (abusing) them through the force of law to supply the "needs" of the parasites.
These are a few highlights and examples of the content I will be posting here. Although I appreciate healthy debate, I have no ambition to endlessly argue the merits of forced collectivism versus individual liberty but will always make an appeal to justice and common sense when challenged. I hope you are challenged to think about things from different angles than that which is typically presented in the mainstream media sources, including Fox News!! Feel free to comment or add contact and link info to any related subject matter.

I saw your article in an email from WGEN. Welcome to the foray! I am a fellow scribbler who is sick and tired of the way things are in this country.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how much time you intend to devote to exploring this realm, but I have found that you'll need to pack a lunch and a flashlight, to see how deep the rabbit hole really is. By that I mean the corruption and problems this country faces are so enormous and intertwined, and learning about them is both time consuming, and addictive as hell.
Anyway, glad to hear another voice amongst the masses.
Hello Gordon. I too saw your email from WGEN. I blogged for many years but had to stop some months ago due to health issues. As Neal said above, studying the global rampant crime can be addictive -- but another voice is always welcome and encouraged in the fray. Welcome aboard -- and write on!
